Day 31 - 10 Ka Dum

I hear that there are a large number of websites and ‘faces’ as they call them exist on my name all over the internet… but none of them is official or sanctioned by me. This 10 Ka Dum blog is the only one I personally contribute to, even if rather irregularly. All other platforms created on this magical medium are not really authorized by me. I wish to thank my fans and friends for patronizing 10 ka Dum and all things related to it.

Watch me tonight and tomorrow at 9 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television!

Day 30 - 10 Ka Dum

Some patients come to ‘Being Human’, my charitable foundation with very odd requests… that we should also clear the old dues they spent on their ailments. One patient wanted us to pay for his old debt before helping him with his heart surgery. We recently funded another surgery and the patient has by the grace of God, now fully recovered. The hospital authorities informed us that the patient wanted a copy of the bills that have been paid by us. We were told that their idea was to show the bills to other philanthropist and collect more cash.

This really makes me sad and even angry that some people want to exploit even their illness and diseases. Instead of being grateful for what has been done, they would rather criticize for what could not be done. I have met people who keep on re-living their accidents and ailment. They keep on talking about how unfortunate they are, even after they are cured. They just do not want the past to be dead and gone but impose it on their present and wish to carry it on to the future. I do not understand this anatomy of melancholy…

Day 29 - 10 Ka Dum

Hey I hope you all had a great weekend! I have written about issues close to my heart and that is what I am doing even today.

You need to work hard to earn money. The decision to give some of it on charity is harder to take but to find worthy people to bestow it upon is the hardest work. It is said in all religious books that charity to unworthy is a great mistake. Recently, I decided to fund a life saving operation costing around Rs.9 Lakhs, for a very worthy person. And my doctor adviser arranged for it to take place at Nanavati Hospital. The patient residing in Bandra was a little unhappy that we couldn’t get it done at Lilavati Hospital. I believe that this kind of attitude of takings things for granted leads to demanding things really not necessary for cure. Once, my father Salim Khan told me that there have been beggars who keep on abusing the persons who try to help them. It is a known trick in the trade of begging with style…once a lame beggar approached my father to give him money to buy “Jaipur feet”. My father decided to pay and arrange for it directly from the makers of the Jaipur feet, instead of giving him the cash. What was shocking is that the person never took the delivery of those Jaipur feet. Because it was easier for him to earn loads of money, remaining a lame beggar! He had just come to my father to usurp money in the name of buying Jaipur feet.
