Day 30 - 10 Ka Dum

Some patients come to ‘Being Human’, my charitable foundation with very odd requests… that we should also clear the old dues they spent on their ailments. One patient wanted us to pay for his old debt before helping him with his heart surgery. We recently funded another surgery and the patient has by the grace of God, now fully recovered. The hospital authorities informed us that the patient wanted a copy of the bills that have been paid by us. We were told that their idea was to show the bills to other philanthropist and collect more cash.

This really makes me sad and even angry that some people want to exploit even their illness and diseases. Instead of being grateful for what has been done, they would rather criticize for what could not be done. I have met people who keep on re-living their accidents and ailment. They keep on talking about how unfortunate they are, even after they are cured. They just do not want the past to be dead and gone but impose it on their present and wish to carry it on to the future. I do not understand this anatomy of melancholy…
