I am really very happy to note the overwhelming response to this blog and read all your messages of love and good wishes. I did not know that television reaches so far. Asians settled abroad have enjoyed the show and I am told it is being very well received in our country also. This brings to mind the thought that some of our filmmakers try to make films especially for non-resident Indians and Asians. I fail to understand this attitude…I believe that people, us Indians all share the same feelings whether here or living abroad. I dislike creating divisions and films ought to appeal to the heart…universally.

Caterign to NRIs is somethin that has really erked me. I have lived in Canada all my life and enjoy all Indian movies. The term NRI seems to be translated into a person that does not love thier country...and yes, India is still my country. My parent in order to provide a better life for their children shifted to Canada, it had nothing to do with their love for their country because they have instilled this love in us. It was because for the middle class back then there were not too many choices.
I have watched a few of your interviews and love your take on life. Keep on rocking.

I am so happy to know that you are indeed reading these comments (or at least that someone is reading them and reporting to you!)
I want to tell you two things about today's post. First, I completely agree with you about not creating "NRI" (or other niche) films. I am what would be called an "NRI", having lived most of my life outside of India, and the reason I like your films is that they always express the true Indian values, no matter what the subject, and not in an exaggerated pseudo-patriotic way, but by recognizing the universal emotions and relationships that all human beings can relate to.
That brings me to my second point. Why do you keep thinking that your fans consist of only Indians or other South Asians? You said something like this when your statue was put in Madame Tussaud's museum as well. Please realize that you have many fans from other countries and cultures, who have no tie to India except what they have developed by discovering and appreciating you and your films. In fact, one of them, Corina from Romania, posts comments here regularly. And there are many more Romanian fans of yours who do not necessarily post here, as indeed there are from many other countries as well. You truly have a universal appeal! Please remember that.

Akash, I guess I didn't make myself clear. I didn't say that Salman doesn't recognize or doesn't appreciate his overseas fans. Of course he does. However, from many statements he has made, it appeared to me that he thinks his overseas fans are still primarily of Indian/South Asian origin. It was that impression I was trying to correct. I personally know of fans of Salman who are American, Canadian, Iranian, and of course, Romanian, none of whom have any ties to India.

when GOD created us we were in pure form which means the true nature of any soul is purity,calm,peaceful and positive.we are the same souls who have lived in satya yug, thretha yug, dwaper yug and now we are in kali yug ,even this ends and the cycle of satya ,thretha,dwaper and kali yug gets repeated.in satya yug we were in perfect pure form so there was happiness always when we moved to thretha yug we lost our purity by some % simillarly we lost purity by some more % in dwaper yug and today in kali yug we live in body consciouness and not soul consciousness of purity,calm and peacefulness .as in our past births we have accepted and lived in a traditional way conservative thoughts enter our thought process reminding us of our true samskaras.we all of us are go throughing tranformation process trying to refine ourselves and get back to our original form,in this process some of us are advanced and some of them are still in deep sleep.evil forces are of different forms like irritation,tension,anger, critcising,gossiping,selfishness etc etc etc these evil forces try to destroy our purity of mind so we keep challenging evil forces by reminding us about our true samskaras.when we think posiive about somebody the vibrations of positivity reaches them in fraction of seconds witout being told same with the negative thoughts.when we think negatively it first depletes our positive energy before affecting respective person and the real sufferer is we and not others

I'm in London, born here, lived here all my life. Don't think that makes me much different from you in India or others in other parts of the World.We all think the same - esp matters of the heart. I know that if I like a film from the heart, whether it's a 'Namaste London' or 'Mother india' or 'Pardes', it makes no difference. I myself loved 'Jab we met' and 'Partner' and I'm neither from Bhatinda or India. Love you...xxx

Agreeing to your post, it's completely right. Even my non-indian friends, who are chinese and malay, enjoy bollywood and recognise many of the celebrities. I dotn see why there should be a division between NRIs and Indians.

Indian peoples who's working there everyone is watching Dus ka Dum nd waiting 4 Next episode. Because Friday is rest day over there, but peoples started return back home before 6.30pm so they can enjoy your show.
Saturday show is little bit difficult to watch because of duty timing. ARAMCO is biggest organization in Saudi and thousand of National, Multi National, Establishments involve in ARAMCO,as sub contractor, and duty timing is effecting to watch d show that’s Y they can’t able 2 watch repeat telecast also. Now VCD's are also available in market. Also Comedy Circus is favorite of all.

salman in our family when food is prepared we first offer it GOD and say SHREEKRISHNA AARPANAMASTHU because it is believed that any food offered to GOD is not only tasty but also keeps us healthy away from all diseases and also have positive effects on our thoughts. i don't know ur habits if u are offering food to GOD and then having it it's good but if u don't have that habit cultivate it because we want to see u and ur family being healthy and happy

Chalo guys, enjoy this one hour, and make the most of it! A request-don't switch over to other channels even if it's a commercial break...that's a matter of TRP...I don't even find the commercials boring...with Surya Bulb advertisement, I sing, "Surya...surya..." With Asian Paints ad, I hum, "ghar ko roshan kar de..." :) A little too much I am at times!:p I enjoy everything that falls into Dus Ka Dum bracket...or to be more precise, anything that concerns Salman the great! :)

im sooo glad that you read our mails....i hope you read mine. i totally understand wat ur tryin to say. The story off the film is the heart off the film. Even if theres all the glist and glamour in a film, but the story isn't good than that film wont be good. A perfect example of that is Tashan. I love your movies because they have the best stories filled with all sorts of emotions. I'm dying to watch Veer; i know that you have written an awesome story...after all Your Father is a writer! Why Dus Ka Dum has clicked for Salman Khan?
When there were news about Salman Khan anchoring a show for Sony Television, there was a sceptism that this show would be flop. I being a great fan of Salman khan and his movies had fear, Salman Khan may not succeed as a anchor because Salman Khan is known to be quite reserved and with little humour in real life. He is not kind of the person, who thinks on his feet. Neither he is Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachan or Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and over that, his relationship with media has always been poor. Salman Khan’s biggest challenge was to interact with normal middle class people in the show and create a rapport with them. The format of the show was more for masses and needed an anchor, who can think on his feet and have great sense of humour. Salman Khan was superstar with his movies but this show ‘Dus Ka Dum’ will take him to more popularity and rise his position to Megastardom. With his blogs also getting popular and where we come to real salman khan. We come to know, what he thinks? His thinking process and blogs reminds me of Bhagat Singh’s. ‘Dus Ka Dum’ is a super success and has become quite popular with it fans.

The culture and our perspective about some issues are very different. I hope there is one day I can meet you, face to face, eye to eye. Just once in my life. That is enough for me and then I will live in peace.
